As Australian small businesses continue to expand their reach into global markets, managing taxes accurately and compliantly across various jurisdictions becomes a critical challenge. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Wattman now supports automatic tax calculations for multiple countries, including the addition of VAT IDs and local tax numbers.
What’s New?
Businesses can now select multiple countries for automatic tax calculations and input specific VAT IDs or local tax IDs for each.
The system can configure and manage nexus addresses, helping determine tax obligations based on geographical presence.
Automatic taxation is now applicable at the point of checkout and on invoice payments, tailored to the customer’s location across all payment interfaces such as funnels, payment links, invoices, estimates, and eCommerce stores.
A comprehensive list of countries where automatic tax calculations are enabled is available under the list of Nexus Addresses, simplifying global operations.
Practical Benefits for Wattman Users:
This update means simplifying the complex process of tax handling in different countries. For existing users of our US Automatic Tax system, a guided migration flow helps seamlessly transition to this new global setup. Plus, you can manage your nexus and tax settings with ease directly through our intuitive user interface, ensuring that you remain compliant with international tax laws while focusing on growing your business.
How to Configure Your Settings
You can find the automatic tax settings under Payments > Settings > Taxes > Automatic Taxes. It’s possible to tweak settings even at the product level via Payments > Products > Edit/Create Product Tax Code.
